Established in 1995, Sharjah Airport International Free Zone (SAIF Zone) is a renowned trade centre.
It is the 1st ISO 9001 certified airport freezone in the world. It houses more than 8,000 companies from 160 countries and offers various facilities to meet all types of business requirements.
SAIF zone has many business opportunities in various fields. Some of these include general trading, perfumes and cosmetics, business consultancy, cage manufacturing, machinery parts assembly, freight forwarding, oil and gas services, IT services, marketing, accounting, and third-party logistics and many more.
This freezone offers fast and easy corporate registration procedures, allowing investors to have full ownership over their companies. Investors can also benefit from exemptions from personal income tax, as well as import and export duties. SAIF Zone stands out for being the only industrial zone in the UAE with lush greenery and its location next to the Sharjah International Airport and its proximity to other seaports and airports.
To setup your business in SAIF Zone, you will need one of these four types of licenses:

This license covers the import, export, distribution, consolidation, storage, and warehousing of specific items listed in the license.
This license can be obtained under a commercial license allowing businesses to cover a variety of goods.
This license includes the importing of raw materials, manufacturing, processing, assembling, packaging, and exporting the final product.
This license permits you to offer services specified in the license, but only within the SAIF Zone.
Choose from a variety of facility types including SAIF Offices (SAIF Suite, SAIF Executive Office, SAIF Office), warehouses, plots of land, Jewellery Park, container parking, and labour accommodation.
An FZE can be established by one individual with just one shareholder, and a minimum capital requirement of AED 150,000.
An FZC in SAIF Zone must have at least two shareholders to operate, with the option to have up to seven shareholders with approval from the SAIF Zone Authority. The minimum capital requirement is AED 150,000.
A foreign company can open a branch in SAIF Zone with the branch having the same name as the parent company.
A company from any part of the UAE can open a branch in SAIF Zone with the branch having the same name as the parent company.
Submit the company formation application.
Provide the required documents and pay the necessary license fees.
Obtain the trade license from the relevant authorities.
Apply for the company’s establishment card.
Apply for resident and employee visas.
Open a corporate bank account and apply for any additional clearances.
