Most employment contracts include a probation period. The aim of the process is to provide both parties with enough time to assess whether they are well suited for each other.

Where a probationary employee is not achieving the standards of performance or conduct that you expect during the probation period the employer may terminate the employment contract with immediate effect without any justification and without being liable to pay end of service gratuity (except for due salaries).

Moreover, an employee who is on probation will not be able to claim unfair dismissal if dismissed during the probation period.
